Hunters Point South / Long Island City

Hunters Point South is one of approximately ten neighborhoods that make up Long Island City, one of the most vibrant parts of Queens. With a thriving arts community and an up-and-coming culinary culture, this area is worth exploration. It has one of the highest concentrations of studios, art galleries, performance spaces and art institutions in New York City outside of Manhattan. Not as gentrified as its Greenpoint and North Williamsburg counterparts, some of the neighborhoods (Hunters Point included) may feel like you're finding hidden gems, which you just might be if you're lucky enough to stumble upon 5 Pointz, MoMA PS1, The Museum of the Moving Image, or the Chocolate Factory Theater. Long Island City is a neighborhood not to be missed.
